What are you looking forward to most in Münster or at the Münster School of Business?

I am looking forward to expand on my teaching and research skills at the Münster School of Business and hopefully make the School of Business at Makerere, Uganda more visible to the FH Münster staff. Then just enjoy my experience through new people, cultures, and the environment in Münster.

Why are you grateful for the cooperation between Münster University of Applied Sciences and Makerere University?

I am grateful for the collaboration centers on capacity building, research, teaching and learning in the academia field. Plus, I was able to travel and come to Germany for one year and interact with the collaborating Münster University of Applied Sciences.

Diana also uses her time in Germany to travel - for example to Berlin. (Photo: private)

What topics are you researching?

I'm doing research on gender diversity and market valuation of accounting information.

Why do you enjoy researching financial topics?

It has been my passion since my bachelors to delve into the field of Accounting and Finance. It is a combination of Sciences and Arts and I feel I get to experience the best of both worlds of research.

What are the biggest cultural differences between Germans and Africans? What can each culture learn from the other?

In my opinion, the biggest cultural differences between Germany and Africa are the language and the food. But the good thing about the differences is that each culture can just learn to accept and respect each other's differences - no matter how hard it is, in order to live in an uncomplicated global community.

Do you already have a favorite place in Münster or at the Münster School of Business?

At the university, my favorite place is my office at the moment. My favorite place in Münster is the city center. Once in a while I love to go shopping. Furthermore, I loved the Christmas market with its special atmosphere. That was a beautiful experience. I ate potato cakes and currywurst for the first time and of course I tried out and enjoyed Glühwein.

What is your vision for the future: Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

In five years, I hope to be a successful professor in my field.
